this site is to provide a local resource for people living in, or
connected to, the village. See
photos of the village at the foot of
this page.
Most of the
articles from the July 2009 Issue appear on the Parish News page.

Are
you looking for a house in Great Bedwyn? My
house is currently for sale. If you're looking for a detached 4 bedroom
house in an idyllic location, close to the Kennet & Avon Canal,
yet
only 5 minutes walk from Bedwyn station (direct line to Newbury,
Reading & Paddington) have a look at this: http://www.henrygeorge.co.uk/php/detail.php3?propid=5040 you
can contact me via
the website contact link in the left-hand margin.
This
house is in catchment for two excellent schools: Great Bedwyn C of E
Primary School & St John's School & Community College,
Marlborough
As well as
living in
such a beautiful area of the country, we are also very lucky to have
two very significant historical landmarks on our doorstep:
WILTON
WINDMILL is
managed by the Wilton Windmill Society and is staffed
entirely by volunteers. The
mill is
fully operational and when there is sufficient wind, they produce their
own stone
ground flour. The
flour can be bought
at the Windmill and also at other local outlets and farm shops in the
area. Look at the Parish News page for details of their up and coming
Victorian Day and visit their website at www.wiltonwindmill.co.uk
CROFTON
PUMPING STATION
(The Beam Engines) has
started its new season after a winter during which much repair and
maintenance work was carried out. They
will be open Thursdays to Tuesdays for the new season from Friday 10
April until Sunday 27 September and in steam on 11, 12 & 13
April, 2, 3, & 4 May, 23, 24 & 25 May, 27 & 28
June, 1 & 2 August, 29, 30 & 31 August and 26 &
27 September.
The Bedwyn
Millennium Choir have been in
action since 1999. They have their
own web page hosted as part of this site - see blue button in the left
hand margin. Their Spring season 2009 rehearsals started on the 23rd
February. Have a look at their page if you are interested in getting
involved.
