Bedwyn Millennium Choir

Last update: January 2008

We are a choir of 35 singers who come from the Bedwyns and beyond!

The choir was formed in 1999 and is open to all adults who love to sing.

There is no audition or subscription fee to join and the ability to read music is an advantage but not a requirement.

Rehearsals are on Monday evenings 7.30pm-9.00pm at Great Bedwyn School during our two seasons a year:

Our Spring Season this year starts on February 4th and consists of 8 rehearsals and 2 performances.  We shall be singing at the Easter Service in St Mary`s Church and for the Hungerford Rotary Club at their St George`s Day Celebration.  Full details of our Spring rehearsal programme are available on request.

Our Christmas Season starts in November and lasts for 6 weeks.

We sing at the local Christmas and Easter Church Services and at other local events including weddings, funerals and concerts.

Our repertoire is wide-ranging and covers music sacred and secular, serious and whimsical, from the 16th century to the present day.

We have recently recorded a Christmas CD which has been available in local shops.  The production of this CD has been made possible with a grant from Awards For All  and we are most grateful for their support:  www.awardsforall.org.uk

3 Samples from the CD are currently being played on this webpage.

Copies of the CD are also available on request.

Our conductor is Katey Thomas, who is a professional orchestral musician and currently training as a choral conductor with the national organisation Sing for Pleasure.

For further information and to join, please email Katey at: cipolla@btopenworld.com.
